- 1969 - Elsie Tanner discovers that boyfriend Dave Smith is married.
- 1975 - Bet Lynch finds out that her long-lost soldier son, Martin Downes, has been killed in Northern Ireland and she contemplates suicide.
- 1980 - Ena Sharples returns to St Annes in anger as her Community Centre flat still isn't ready.
- 1986 - Peter and Susan Barlow celebrate their 21st birthday with a party.
- 1990 - Tracy Barlow causes a chip pan fire at No.1 and is rescued by Dave Barton.
- 1993 - After a gap of many years, Reg Holdsworth is reintroduced to Maureen Naylor's mother and his nemesis, Maud Grimes.
- 2004 - Penny King refuses both Fred Elliott's proposal of marriage and his offer of friendship.
- 2007 - Tracy Barlow is found guilty of the murder of Charlie Stubbs and sentenced to life imprisonment.
- 2010 - A drunken Jason Grimshaw falls down the stairs at the builder's yard and suffers a concussion that results in a temporary loss of memory. Becky McDonald finds out she has suffered a second miscarriage and that she will probably never carry a baby to term.
- 2014 - Stella Price leaves Weatherfield to stay with her friend Deana in New York.
- 2018 - Eileen Phelan is arrested on suspicion of murder and assisting an offender. Pat Phelan is revealed to be alive after his fall. Craig Tinker breaks the news to the Platt family that Neil Clifton is appealing against his conviction.
- 2020 - The Barlows' dog Eccles is put to sleep after an operable tumour is found.
