- 1975 - Billy Walker and Deirdre Hunt cancel their wedding.
- 1982 - Eddie Yeats and Marion Willis become engaged.
- 1983 - Maria Sutherland is born.
- 1993 - Percy Sugden proposes to Olive Clarke but is refused. Les Curry dies in Weatherfield General following a heart attack.
- 1997 - Ashley Peacock is arrested for arson, the crime actually being committed by Don Brennan.
- 1999 - Tyrone Dobbs is taken on as an apprentice at Coronation Street Garage by Kevin Webster.
- 2000 - Steve McDonald tells Natalie Barnes that Jez Quigley killed her son Tony Horrocks.
- 2003 - Vera Duckworth is reconciled with Gail Platt when David breaks down and tells her about his mum's suffering over Richard Hillman's actions.
- 2008 - The Websters and the Peacocks agree to a house-swap.
- 2014 - Lloyd Mullaney suffers a heart attack while taking part in a 5k fun run.
- 2021 - Seb Franklin and Nina Lucas are badly attacked and hospitalised by drunken gang led by Corey Brent and including Eli Higginson, Kelly Neelan and others.

- 1967 - Bill Ward (Charlie Stubbs) is born.
- 1970 - Julie Foy (the first actress to portray Gina Seddon) is born.
- 1982 - Queen Elizabeth II, accompanied by Prince Philip, opened the new outdoor set. Sir Denis Forman and David Plowright of Granada Television introduced the Royal visitors to Tony Warren, H.V. Kershaw, Bill Podmore and Denis Parkin before they walked down the set and met all the regular members of the cast. The entire visit was broadcast live by ITV in a special programme entitled The Queen in Coronation Street. Her next visit would take place on 8th July 2021.
