No.8 Coronation Street was first seen when Maurice Jones built the new properties on the site of the factory and community centre. After Maurice Jones had finished constructing the properties in 1990 only No.8 remained empty. In 1991 newlyweds Martin and Gail Platt bought the house for £38,000 and moved in with Nicky, Sarah and baby David. As of 2010 Gail McIntyre and her two sons David and Nick were the only residents of No.8.
