Adam Colclough was trained as an actor at Oldham College and Ridge College, appearing in several of the latter's theatre productions, including The Birthday Party and Twelfth Night. He has also appeared in productions for the Hull Truck Theatre.
He made his television debut in 1995 in Blood and Peaches and has since gone on to appear in Dangerfield, Hollyoaks, Doctors and Heartbeat.
He has appeared on Coronation Street in three different roles:
- Colin Baxter, potential buyer of No.9 in September 1995
- A Heavy employed by Mike Baldwin in his dealings with Greg Kelly in May 1999
- Nick Morgan, one of the two brothers menacing the Harris family when they were on a witness-protection scheme under the name of "Nelson" in April 2003.
Adam lists among his accomplishments being a magician.
