Alex Carter (born 7th May 1982 in Oldham), is an English actor and radio presenter who appeared on Coronation Street in October 1999 as an unnamed Youth who, along with his friend, hurled abuse at Spider Nugent and Toyah Battersby who were temporarily living in a tent pitched up on the Red Rec.

Carter, who attended the Blue Coat School in Oldham, got his TV break earlier that same year when he was cast as Craig Harrison in nine episodes of the Sunday evening drama Where the Heart Is. Two years later he joined the cast of Hollyoaks as Lee Hunter - staying for four years before being written out when the character left to embark on a round the world tour. Continuing the transpennine nature of his career, he joined the cast of Emmerdale as Jamie Hope in February 2006. On 8th February 2010, whilst appearing on Shaun Keaveny's breakfast show on BBC 6 Music, a show he regularly contributed to, he announced that he was leaving the soap after four years. It was confirmed during the following month that after a five-year hiatus, Carter was returning to Hollyoaks where he stayed until October 2011.

He appeared in the Christmas special and finale of the BBC Three comedy How Not to Live Your Life and in August 2012 Carter appeared in the second series of In With the Flynns on BBC1 as Kevin Flynn.
