Allan O'Keefe appeared in four roles on Coronation Street:
- A pop singer who entered the Viaduct Sporting Club's talent contest in August 1964.
- Ray Butler, an exuberant MC at The Red Lion in May 1965
- A footballer for Weatherfield County FC in December 1971
- A returning officer at a council election in May 2001.
He also appeared in The Old One-Two, a first season episode of the Coronation Street spin-off Pardon the Expression in August 1965 as the exotically named youth Cherokee and later in the same year recorded the untransmitted Christmas Special where he played a camp mod.
Enjoying a long career as an actor on television from the 1960s to the 1990s, he is probably best known in the regular roles of PC Render in Z Cars and Chris Smith in EastEnders. His other credits include Budgie, Dear Enemy, Maybury, Jossie's Giants, Emmerdale and Last of the Summer Wine.
