Allan Prior

Newcastle-born Allan Prior (13th January 1922 to 1st June 2006) was one of the writers of Coronation Street in its early days, contributing 3 scripts in 1961.

He grew up in Blackpool and served with the RAF during the Second World War. He was one of the founder writers of the popular police procedural drama Z Cars, and went on to write over 130 episodes for that series and its various spin-off's, and over 170 other television scripts including episodes of the science fiction series Blakes 7, as well as episodes of Marked Personal. He also wrote extensively for radio, and authored twenty novels.
