Allan Surtees (born 31st December 1924 in Liverpool, died 1st November 2000 in London) appeared in Coronation Street in November and December 1981 as Councillor Ben Critchley who brought an end to the marriage of Fred and Eunice Gee.

He was also a regular cast member in 23 of the 26 episodes of the 1980s Street spin-off The Brothers McGregor as nightclub owner Colwyn Stanley.

His first television roles were in the late 1960s and over the years included parts in ITV Sunday Night Theatre, Dixon of Dock Green, Z Cars, Softly Softly: Task Force, Bill Brand, The Professionals, Rosie, The Spoils of War (written by John Finch), Capital City, Brookside, Lovejoy, Casualty, Pie in the Sky, The Bill and Peak Practice.

Film roles included Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed and Erik the Viking.
