Andy Robb (born 14th March 1970 in Exeter) appeared on Coronation Street between April and June 1998 as Darren Whateley, the man convicted for the murder of Brian Tilsley in February 1989 (the role having been portrayed by actor Ian Aspinall in his original appearance, and credited as "Disco Youth").

While acting, he wrote a number of pieces for stage, television and radio before a chance encounter with best-selling author Alex Garland inspired him to start writing children's fiction. His debut novel "Geekhood: Close Encounters of the Girl Kind" was shortlisted for the Waterstones Children's Book Prize, 2013.

Other on-screen credits include roles in Wycliffe, Peak Practice, The Bill, Casualty, Doc Martin and films The Da Vinci Code and The Woman in Black.
