Balvinder Sopal (born 4th December 1979 in Chatham, Kent) appeared on Coronation Street as PC Marks in March and August 2013, with a return to the role in December 2017.
Having completed a Media with Theatre Studies course at the University of Huddersfield in 2001, her screen credits include roles in Emmerdale, Waterloo Road, Anatomy of a Crime, Steel River Blues as well as the BAFTA award-winning 2008 BBC film White Girl. In theatre, she has appeared in various stage productions including Running Wild, The Snow Queen, Deranged Marriage, Our Glass House, The Edge, Stowaway Sleepless, The Beautiful Violin, Absent Friends and Home Sweet Home. She has also extensively performed in plays and readings across the BBC Radio service.
