Barbara Young (born 9th February, 1936 in Brighouse), has played four roles in Coronation Street; first as club hostess Betty Ridgeway in 1961, secondly as Dorothy Stockwell in 1982 for guest appearances, followed by Barbara Platt, Martin's mother in 1991 and finally Doreen Fenwick in 2007 as more of a regular role. She also had a recurring role in the first season of the Street spin-off Pardon the Expression, as Pam Plummer in 1965.
