Basil Moss (born 25th May 1935 in London, died 28th November 2020 also in London) appeared on Coronation Street in December 1968 as Martin Hepworth, a friend of Ken Barlow.
He was best known for playing Alan Drew for two years from 1963 in the BBC soap Compact and Peter Tyson for eleven years from 1969 in the Radio 2 serial Waggoners' Walk but also appeared in a wide range of other parts including Deadline Midnight, Emergency-Ward 10, David Copperfield, Crossroads, Sexton Blake, UFO, First Among Equals, A Sort of Innocence, EastEnders, Silent Witness and Heartbeat.
On film, he appeared in You Only Live Twice and One Brief Summer.
Stage roles include All in the Family, Twelfth Night, Flare Path, Dead Ringer, Lettice and Lovage along with Dear Augustine at the Royal Court Theatre.
