Bernard Gallagher (born 26th September 1929 in Bradford, died 27th November 2016 in Brighton) appeared on Coronation Street in two separate police officer roles: firstly as Inspector Mason in March 1967; and he returned to the programme between February and March 1974 as Sergeant Bert Daniels.

His other credits include Inheritance, Nightingale's Boys, Couples, Oh No, It's Selwyn Froggit, Brendon Chase, Take the High Road, The Borgias, Shine on Harvey Moon, The Practice, Relative Strangers, Casualty, The Bill, EastEnders, Heartbeat, Doctors and Downton Abbey.

On stage, he appeared in productions of Antigone, Uncle Vanya, A Chaste Maid in Cheapside, Serjeant Musgrave's Dance, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, Oedipus, The Covent Garden Tragedy, The Beaux' Stratagem, Coriolanus, Crete and Sergeant Pepper, Breezeblock Park, The Alchemist, Julius Caesar, Three Sisters, Richard II and Caligula.
