Bill Dixon was the owner of a car park where Emily Bishop's car was clamped in June 1993 when she used it to go shopping and didn't park in a designated bay. She had to pay £40 to have the car released and claimed that the sign to warn people was too small. She appealed to the Citizen's Advice Bureau but they were unable to help so she sat herself with Percy Sugden outside the car park and warned off other drivers about to use it. Mr Dixon made vague threats of trouble and Percy persuaded her to temporarily give up the protest in case the police were called. She did so but alerted the Weatherfield Gazette to the story at which point the clamping firm gave up and refunded her the money.
