Bill Waddington (10th June 1916 - 9th September 2000) was an English comic actor best known for his role as pompous pensioner Percy Sugden on Coronation Street from 1983 to 1997. Prior to his casting as Percy, Bill had appeared in guest roles on the Street on four occasions:

He also appeared in an episode of the spin-off Pardon the Expression in 1965.

In a showbusiness career which lasted almost fifty years, Waddington's other television credits include: Nearest and Dearest and A Family at War. He led the rest of the Coronation Street cast when they released a cover of Always Look on the Bright Side of Life, which reached #35 on the UK Singles Chart in 1995. He had previously released his own record Don't Forget The Old Folks at Christmas in 1986 but this failed to chart. Waddington died in September 2000, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
