Billy Featherstone was the owner of a Weatherfield Betting Shop where Steve McDonald built up a large debt in addition to the money that he already owed Sean Skinner. When Steve’s money problems became severe, Sean had Steve blacklisted from all the Betting Shops in the area. Billy demanded repayment of his money and when Steve span him a desperate story about being mugged, scornfully suggested that he take his tale to the police.

When Steve continued to avoid settling, Billy gave him another warning as he passed by Coronation Street in a car, telling Steve to not even look at buying a skateboard until he paid the debt.
