Blue Merrick has appeared eight times in Coronation Street as the Registrar at the following weddings: Roy Cropper to Tracy Barlow in November 2003, Ken Barlow to Deirdre Rachid in April 2005, the aborted first wedding of Jason Grimshaw to Sarah Platt in August 2006, Vernon Tomlin and Liz McDonald in December 2007, John Stape and Fiz Brown in October 2009, David Platt and Kylie Platt in April 2011, Dennis Tanner and Rita Sullivan in June 2012 and most recently the ceremony to marry Nick Tilsley and Leanne Barlow at Dalebrook Hall in December of the same year, however the ceremony didn't go ahead as bridesmaid Eva Price informed members of the wedding party and guests that Leanne had visited with ex-husband Peter Barlow that morning.

The character's name is thought to be Jenny Reece.

Blue has also appeared as a Paramedic in Emmerdale.
