Brendan Charleson (born South Manchester) appeared in Coronation Street as the Landlord of The Flying Horse who interviewed Ciaran McCarthy for a chef's job in January 2011.

Educated at St. Ambrose College in Altrincham, Cheshire, he graduated from Leicester Polytechnic with a BA (Hons) in Performing Arts and moved to Wales in 1985.

He joined the Sherman Theatre Company in Cardiff for their inaugural production OZ!, followed by roles in Blood Brothers, My Beautiful Launderette, Romeo and Juliet, Fernhill, The Last Pirate and Of Mice and Men.

He has been a stalwart player at Clwyd Theatr Cymru in Mold, appearing in Under Milk Wood, The Aristocrats, Salt, Root and Roe, Glengarry Glen Ross, Roots, The Taming of the Shrew, Dancing at Lughnasa, Arden of Faversham, The Suicide, Measure For Measure, Two Princes, Brassed Off, To Kill a Mockingbird and The Herbal Bed.

Other theatre work includes The Accrington Pals, Corialanus, The Seafarer, Bus Stop, Gulliver, The Drowned World, Sex and Power at the Beau Rivage, Amazing Grace, Aladdin, Cymbeline, The Merchant of Venice and The Rise and Fall of Little Voice alongside Vicky Entwistle and Chris Gascoyne.

Other television credits include: Londongrad, Trollied, Da Vinci's Demons, Casualty, Doctors, Holby City, Dalziel and Pascoe, Waking the Dead, Torchwood, The Story of Tracy Beaker, Heartbeat, The Palace, Living It, The Giblet Boys, The Indian Doctor, Gwaith/Cartref, Nice Day for a Welsh Wedding, Andromache, In Denial of Murder, Pobol Y Cym, Facing Demons, Fun in the Funeral Parlour, Without Motive, Dirty Work, Nice Girls, The Gatekeeper, City Central, Jack of Hearts, A Mind to Kill and Pubroom Paranoia.

On film, he has appeared in Killer Elite, Green Street Hooligans, A Bit of Tom Jones?, Simon Magus, Abraham's Point, Hedd Wyn and Anazapta.

He is also a lecturer in Film at the University of South Wales.
