Born in Stockport, Cheshire on 12th November 1931, Brian Rawlinson is most famous for his role as Gaff Guernsey in the mid-1950s adventure series The Buccaneers and as Robert Onedin in The Onedin Line. He guest-appeared in most of the Sapphire films adventure serials of the late 1950s and continued to work until the late 1990s, appearing in many television series in a guest-actor capacity. He appeared three times as Cyril Gridley in Last of the Summer Wine. He died on 23rd November 2000.
