Carol MacReady appeared in Coronation Street in August 2004 as bowls competitor Edie Bagshawe.
She began her career in repertory theatre and then joined the Old Vic for two years. She has also appeared in Marmalade Atkins, EastEnders, Birds of a Feather, The Bill, Dangerfield, Holby City, The Bill and Doctors. Film appearances include The Pirates Of Penzance and 102 Dalmations while her long stage CV includes parts in Cider with Rosie, The Playboy of the Western World, Jubilee, The Rivals, Tales From the Vienna Woods, Ladies in Lavender and several Shakespeare productions.
At the Royal Shakespeare Company she directed a double bill of The Stronger and Before Breakfast as part of the Fringe Festival.
