Catherine Terris (born 1948 in Sunderland) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly in August 1978 as Marjorie Pearce, who accused Elsie Tanner of clipping her son Jason round the ear and confiscating his football. She returned to the programme in December 1981 as Mary Bell, who along with her husband Ron, were prospective buyers of 13 Coronation Street when it was put on the market.

Having trained at LAMDA, other credits include roles in Villains, Beryl's Lot, Z Cars, When the Boat Comes In, Anna Karenina, Emmerdale, Angels, Inspector Morse, Dangerfield, William and Mary, Inspector George Gently and In the Club. She also appeared in the films Sacred Hearts, Creation and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.

On stage she has appeared in productions of Faustus, A Rite Kwik Metal Tata, Andy Capp, Tight at the Back, Rose, Tom Jones, Billy Liar, Queuing for Everest and Into the Blue.

Her brother, the late Malcolm Terris, also appeared in Coronation Street in three separate roles.
