The unnamed court Clerk was present at the preliminary hearing of Tony Gordon for the murder of Liam Connor and attempted murder of Roy Cropper, which was heard at the Magistrates Court in November 2009. He was also present at both Magistrate and Crown Court throughout at the trial of Gail McIntyre for the murder of her husband Joe, a charge for which she was found "not guilty".
- Paul Dockery, who played the Clerk, is a real-life retired barrister who advises Granada on legal proceedings for episodes involving criminal trials. He had previously appeared in the programme as Neil, an Usher.
