The Clitheroe Amateur Operatic Society was an organisation in which Anne Beaumont first trod the boards as a singer. The future Annie Walker was forced to abandon her ambitions when the family inherited Grandpapa Beaumont's debts in 1927, although she considered this a temporary setback.
