Dan Lees was a journalist who worked for the Weatherfield Gazette and who visited 8 Coronation Street to see Nick Tilsley and David Platt about the story concerning the miscarriage of justice that their mother Gail was facing when she was about to be tried for the supposed murder of her husband Joe.
David told Dan of the petition and Facebook page he had got together. Nick outlined the history of the case and asked for Dan’s support but was told that legally he was unable to print anything until after the trial.
