David Burke (born 25th May, 1934 in Liverpool) is a British actor best known for his portrayal of Dr. Watson in the 1980s Granada series The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. He played two roles on Coronation Street: the first was as Geoff Webster in November 1963, followed by factory manager John Benjamin in June and July 1966.

David's other credits include No Hiding Place, The Avengers, The Villains, Redcap, Softly Softly , Sergeant Cork, Dixon of Dock Green, Dr. Finlay's Casebook, The Champions, Z Cars, The Wednesday Play, Barlow, Rooms, Crown Court, Play for Today, Nanny, Reilly: Ace of Spies (as Joseph Stalin), The House of Eliott, Casualty, The Bill, The Inspector Lynley Mysteries, Dalziel and Pascoe, Waking the Dead and Holby City.

Film roles include Mesmer and The Woman in Black while stage roles include parts in Absurd Person Singular, Richard II, Coriolanus, Three Sisters and many productions at the Royal National Theatre.
