Dennis Morgan was the brother-in-law of Hayley Cropper's Aunty Monica.
When the old lady died in August 2007, Hayley and Roy attended her funeral where Dennis and his equally unpleasant wife Barbara told Hayley to her face that they considered that her presence made a mockery of the service bearing in mind her sex change of ten years previous. An uncharacteristically furious Roy told the couple that they were the ones making a mockery with their "small minded stupidity" and shouted to them, "My wife has more decency, integrity and humanity than you two bigoted buffoons will ever come close to!" Hayley's Uncle Bert afterwards commented that he had waited forty years for someone to put them in their place and that Monica could never stand the couple.
