The Doctor examined David Platt in October 2010 when he collapsed at Weatherfield Magistrates Court awaiting his initial hearing on a charge of the attempted murder of Graeme Proctor after he ran him down on Victoria Street.
At Weatherfield General, David described his symptoms of feeling of being submerged in water with slowed down sounds and realised that he had felt the same way when helping Graeme move boxes several weeks before and, more importantly, when he was driving the car before the accident. The Doctor suspected a form of epilepsy and referred David to a neurologist who confirmed the diagnosis. This was enough for the CPS to drop the case against David.
