The unnamed Doctor was based at Weatherfield General and was on duty after Dan Mason had been rushed into the hospital in June 2008. Dan had been locked in the Rovers' cellar overnight in a prank pulled by Steve McDonald but when Steve had gone to check on him the following morning, he was clearly unwell and crumpled in a heap on the floor.

When Dan's anxious girlfriend Leanne Battersby and his father Harry were approached by the doctor in a waiting area, he informed them that the surgeon had to remove Dan's spleen and although the operation had been successful, he would be monitored in the Intensive Care Unit for the night. Explaining that he was still sedated, he showed signs of a quick recovery and stated that the nurse would fetch them when Dan was up to receiving visitors.

The following July, the doctor was again on call as Claire Peacock had been rushed in having been found, collapsed, inside the front room of 13 Coronation Street by Lloyd Mullaney. Peering in through the window as she hadn't turned up for work, Lloyd spotted Claire lying motionless on the floor, kicked in the front door and called for an ambulance.

On a ventilator in Intensive Care, the doctor told her husband Ashley that she was showing signs of regaining consciousness and encouraged him to speak to her to help bring her round. Ashley was quickly ushered out of the room when the monitors alerted the ITU Nurse to a problem. The doctor later explained that Claire's blood pressure had dropped but she was now making good progress.
