Doreen Keogh

Doreen Keogh was born in Dublin and played Concepta Riley/Hewitt/Regan in Coronation Street from 1960 to 1964 with two return appearances in the early 1970s.
She continued to act after leaving the programme and in the 1990s had regular roles in two popular comedies, Father Ted, and The Royle Family.
In The Royle Family she appeared alongside former Coronation Street actor Geoffrey Hughes, and future Coronation Street actors Andrew Whyment and Sally Lindsay. Sally learnt that she had been cast in Coronation Street whilst filming The Royle Family and Doreen presented her with a photograph of the original cast signed '"From the first barmaid to the newest".
Doreen trained at the Abbey Theatre School in Ireland and worked at the Gate Theatre, building a succesful career in classical plays.
