Edward Palmer (died December 1982) played Gordon Davies's "honorary" Uncle Fred in an episode of Coronation Street in March 1961.
His television career began with the resumption of the service in the late 1940s after the Second World War and his other credits include Dixon of Dock Green, No Hiding Place, The Wednesday Play, Adam Adamant Lives!, Emmerdale Farm and Upstairs, Downstairs. Film roles include parts in Room at the Top and Carry On Girls.
