The Ogdens put the Canadian Rockies mural up, or the "muriel" as Hilda calls it. The lease on Ernie's shop is trebled. His accountant, Arnold Pettifer advises him to close the shop. Con-men Frank Holmes and Jim Pitts pretend to be from the Welfare and try to sell Ena a shower for £60. Frank tells her he's sold one to Hettie Boothroyd.
