Plot

Bet bets Hilda £1 that she can't find out the true story of the relationship between Len, Elsie and Rita. Derek tells Mavis that he wants to buy the house because it will be a good investment. Hilda accuses Elsie of breaking up the Faircloughs' marriage. Annie invites Alf for Christmas dinner - he tries to get out of it but can't. The building society valuator gives the house the all-clear and Mavis celebrates. Suzie goes out with Mike. Rita tells Len that she's sick of hearing people going on about him and Elsie. Gail tells Suzie she's riding for a fall.
