Plot[]
Arnold tells Emily he realises he tried to rush her. He tells her that he'll keep trying. She is embarrassed and asks him to forget it. She tells him that she's made up her mind and will never want to marry him although she is flattered. Arnold tells Deirdre that Emily won't marry him. She tells him that she'll try and win Emily round for him. Martin tells Eddie that Len is planning to sack him. Arnold sends Emily roses. Len tells Eddie there isn't enough work for three. Eddie is upset that he's been cast aside. Renee wins Alf round to the idea of moving by saying they could take a sub-post office. Mavis moves back to her flat and is put out when Len makes her pay for the repairs. Betty tells Emily about her proposal from a friend called Frank after the death of Cyril and advises her to follow her heart.
