Plot
Rita wants the police called in when John hasn't come back by 2.00am but John returns. Rita stops Len rowing with him. Len tells John that if he doesn't tow the line he'll have to leave them. Jack doesn't want to work with Vera and tries to put her off going after the driving job for him. Brian assures Gail that he fancies her more than he fancied Glenda Fox. John buckles down and becomes more domesticated. Vera asks Mike to give Jack an interview, Mike agrees. Ivy tells Vera that he's also seeing Bert for the job. Hilda tells Stan that he should apply for the driving job.
