Plot
Alf warns Bet that her relationship with Des Foster will end in tears - hers. Ivy talks to Bert whilst he's in a coma. He comes round to see her at his bedside. Phyllis asks Chalkie to pay her electricity bill. He gives her £30. When she discovers that he's going to Australia she calls him a monster for not taking her with him. She begs him to take her but he refuses. Alf is forced to cover up for Des when Edith Foster telephones as Des is with Bet.
