Bet is worried about meeting Sandra Arden. Ted Lucas, editor of the Gazette offers to buy the Weatherfield Recorder. Alec assures Bet that he loves her. Wendy is pleased when Ken refuses to sell to Lucas. Ivy is annoyed that Don was in a betting shop when the cab was stolen. Deirdre tells Ken she'll settle for the house. He pleads with her to accept maintenance. Tracy tells Ken that she hates him and flies at him.
