Curly tells Kimberley to keep their engagement quiet - couples aren't allowed to work in the same store. Alec is having doubts about taking on the brewery. Mark returns the necklace. Kevin is relieved when the Baileys take no further action against the garage. Bet pays Tina to do housework to avoid laying her off. The Gazette interviews the Gilroys but the photographer takes all the photos of Tina. Deirdre refuses to give the Gazette an interview. Steve and Andy pick on Tracy because of the house sale. Radio Weatherfield do a live interview with the Gilroys. Their fighting spirit causes Don to lead a secret cabal of drinkers in the Rovers back room into a chorus of Land of Hope and Glory, to the onlookers' confusion. Percy rows with Alec for letting people in behind his back. The Ardens hear the broadcast and offer their support. Curly decides to go along with the engagement. Tim tells Alec that legally he can trade for himself at the Rovers, and advises him to sell all he can before the brewery take charge of the pub again.
