Alec packs for the cruise. Don tells Ivy he has to see Julie to let her know that it's over. Ivy understands. Mike hangs around the cafe in his spare time. Jack tries to get more money out of Alec, saying that another pub wants him over Christmas. Alec's response is to go for his throat. Julie isn't surprised that Don is back with Ivy but upset at the thought he was only ever looking for consolation. She tells him it wasn't necessary to tell her as she'd have figured it out when he stopped visiting. Jack thinks about having Alec done for assault but changes his mind when the rest of the staff give him the cold shoulder. Alec leaves for Southampton to join the cruise ship. Bet refuses to say goodbye to him. Don tells Ivy that he'll never forget Julie; she's the first woman he's hurt. He feels selfish for using Julie and vows never to hurt anyone again. Alec doesn't ring Bet from Southampton. Mike tells Alma that one day they will be back together.
