Jerry sounds Florrie out about leaving the flat at short notice. Dennis starts smoking Russian cigarettes. Ena expects Jerry to come to her for guidance but he goes to Jack instead. Ken and Val get the house ready for the twins. David has a torn ligament and will be on the injured list for the rest of the season. Val persuades Ken to end the feud and write to him. Lucille questions Albert next. Albert can't think of any friends of his who are still alive. Irma thinks Ken doesn't like her. Jack feels it's not his place to advise Jerry. Ena wants to know what they're discussing and asks Jack to send Jerry into the snug. Annie refuses to let Charlie use the Rovers' glasses to practice his juggling. Jerry tells Piggott he's sticking with Len because he owes him money. Piggott pays off the debt for him, leaving him no excuse not to go to Blackburn. Jerry leaves the Rovers without speaking to Ena. David phones and asks to stay with the Barlows. Val doesn't think there'll be any room so Albert volunteers to put him up. Jerry closes the yard and tells Florrie he's leaving tomorrow. He gives her a letter for Len plus the money and the yard keys but she tells him to find someone else. Elsie finds out about Jerry's plans and accuses him of pulling a dirty trick on Len. Irma sends David a telegram as well. Jack catches Charlie reaching behind the bar to pull his own pint. Annie makes him clean up after himself when he gets more beer on the floor than in the pint pot. Jerry leaves everything in Jack's hands and leaves. Everyone is cold towards him.
