Plot[]
Part One: Jerry and Elsie are frantic over Sheila's disappearance. They find out where she is when Albert comes over for milk and mentions seeing her at the bus shelter. Annie calls Jack disgusting for his drunken behaviour. Dennis is too hungry to sleep and keeps Jed awake with his complaints. Jerry goes to the bus shelter to find Sheila. She tells him she waited for him all day and has decided that she's not going to let herself get hurt again. Jerry's able to talk her round with his news about seeing George Dickinson about the divorce. Annie tells Jack that him forgetting Mrs Arkinstall's name proves that he doesn't listen to her. Sheila returns home with Jerry. Jerry tells Elsie that he and Sheila will raise Danny together. Starving Dennis breaks into No.11 to raid the larder. He figures Elsie will be fast asleep, but she's still awake and hits him with a brush.
Part Two: Elsie amuses herself by telling Jed that she hasn't seen Dennis. Jerry goes to Myra's hoping to deal with her directly but she hides upstairs leaving her father to sort everything out. George tells Jerry he'll have to give Myra grounds for a divorce as she doesn't want one. Annie's frosty with Albert, thinking he led Jack astray. She's sure that Jack's blunder has finished her politically. Irma fills in for Hilda at the Rovers while she's poorly. Sheila tells Jerry that Danny has been adopted by his foster mother, Mrs Sankey. She thinks it's for the best but Jerry's disappointed that they're not going to be a family. Jerry lies to Sheila that Myra agreed to the divorce and it's just a matter of details. Sheila cries that she might never see her son again. Annie discovers that Mrs Arkinstall is coming to see her about what happened last night.
