Cilla's fed up - everything in the Battersby household is falling apart. Kirk gets an electric shock off the toaster and the fridge door comes off its hinges. Sally, Kevin and the girls have a day out to Blackpool. Cilla doesn't want to go to work. Les has to force her out of the door. Danny and Frankie have lunch at Mike's. Penny joins them and is upset explaining her house has been burgled. Mel Hutchwright continues to scrounge drinks. He sucks up to Fred and Norris, saying he's named two of the heroes in his novel after them. Cilla finds working in Wong's Chippy stressful as Eileen and Janice continue to poke fun at her. Les buys Cilla a second-hand sunbed to cheer her up. Cilla's delighted. Mel dupes Roy into giving him a free lunch in the café. Candice prepares for an interview for an eye-in-the-sky traffic reporter's job. She stands on a step-ladder with a map spread out on the carpet. Cilla has a brain wave. She tells Les to propose to her so they can replace all their knackered household appliances with new ones as wedding presents. Les and Cilla get engaged.
