Plot[]

Ken and Deirdre visit Tracy in prison. They learn that the new solicitor will have to be paid for. Ken tries to reason with Tracy but Deirdre takes her daughter's side. Les makes a half-hearted attempt at some housework and asks Kirk to try and persuade Fiz to let Chesney move back home. The Barlows argue over how they're going to finance Tracy's new solicitor. Adam offers to use his money from the sale of the factory but Ken won't hear of it. Audrey picks Bill up from No.13 together with all his belongings. Sally and Gail look on disapprovingly. Sarah and Jason set off for the park with Bethany and Holly. When Paul tries to tackle Carla over using their factory to manufacture her own goods, she ignores him and suggests she could use the factory at night. Peter tries to chat up Maria but she plays hard to get. Les tries to talk Chesney into coming home but he refuses to go. Ken pores over his bank statements. He tells Deirdre, Peter, Blanche and Adam that if they can release some equity in the house, that should pay for Tracy's lawyer.

  • TV Times synopsis: As Deirdre pressures Ken to get the money to pay for Tracy's solicitor, he decides to take the drastic action of taking out a remortgage. Peter finds a distraction from his family's concerns in the shape of Maria; Fiz tells Les he has to make a real effort before she'll let Chesney move back in; and when Paul tackles Carla about her use of his staff, she puts a proposition to him.
