David overhears Gail and Joe discussing their engagement. He's unimpressed. Fiz skives off work to clean the house in readiness for John's home-coming. Joe tells Tina that he and Gail are getting married. Tina's delighted for them. Freda's horrified to see an article in the paper about the stolen false leg and that the police are looking for the thief. Tony introduces Hayley to the factory girls telling them that she's his relief manager and will be running the factory in his absence. Sally's furious. Jack hides at No.9. Connie calls round demanding to know why he's avoiding her. Fiz despairs at the state of No.5 and likens it to a doss-house. Freda hands over the stolen false leg to Graeme and asks him to leave it outside a charity shop in the hope they'll hand it in to the police. Roy calls on Tony and tries to push him into confessing to Maria that he killed Liam. Tony proclaims his innocence but it's clear he's feeling the pressure. When Kelly's machine breaks, Hayley has no idea who to call and wonders if she's up to the manager's job. A debt collector calls at No.8 and tells Joe that he's bought his debt from a kitchen supplies firm and they need to work out a repayment structure. Joe's shocked. Maria takes Hayley back to No.7. They're surprised to find Roy there talking to Tony. Maria wants to know what's going on.
