Part One: Steve's worried about Becky as she's not been home all night. Liz blames him for driving her out, but he refuses to contact his wife. The Websters prepare to go with Sally for her first session of radiotherapy treatment. It's the day of Becky's mum's funeral. She refuses both Roy and Hayley's suggestion that Steve is told, and their offer to go with her. Joe suggests to Gail they have a few days away on the boat. George persuades Peter to accompany him to the Oakhill School open day. Steve asks Ashley and Claire if they have seen Becky and receives a lecture from Ashley for the way he's behaved. Becky arrives home and Steve demands to know where she's been. She tells him that she's got to attend the funeral of a woman she used to know and asks him to go with her but he refuses.

The family are surprised to hear that her initial treatment will only take fifteen minutes. Steve and Lloyd discuss Becky's behaviour in the cafe. Roy overhears them and he and Hayley tells Steve he's disgusted he hasn't accompanied Becky to her mother's funeral. Steve's shocked and runs out. Lloyd follows but Steve maintains his marriage is over. Tina tells Joe that they've got a buyer for the flat. The Websters wait for Sally to be finished. Despite his assertion, Steve sets off on his bike in search of Becky. Liz finds Becky in the Rovers' yard. She lets slip to a stunned Liz that she's been at her mum's funeral.
