Plot[]
Part One: Tina looks forlornly at Gail Force. She rejects comfort from Jason. A distraught Gail decides to admit the truth to the police. David is against the idea and urges her to stick to her original statement. Dev takes Grishma and Upma out shopping to give Sunita some peace from their complaints. They agree to meet up in the Rovers afterwards. Liz is fed up with Becky skiving off work just because she's pregnant and annoyed to hear that she also has to make a vegetarian hotpot for Sunita's aunts when they call in later. Comforted by Eileen, Tina tries to make sense of Joe's demise, thinking he might have committed suicide. Simon has pushed Joshua at school and George suggests to Leanne that they boy could go to Spain for a weekend with him and Eve to get away from everything. She agrees to think about it. Jackie suspects Molly of cheating on Tyrone. DC Glynn and DS Carr speak to Tina. She tells them that Joe sent her a text on her birthday and flowers the next day. She's stunned when they reveal they think he'd been dead by then. Jackie confronts Molly in the corner shop but she throws her out and they row in the street. Tyrone's furious with his mother. The police call at No.8 and Gail admits she's not been entirely truthful.
Part Two: Gail tells the police about Joe's plan to fake his own death. Audrey's astonished. Gail insists she rejected the plan outright. The police tell her that Joe's body has some unexplained injuries. Liz complains to Steve about the amount of work she has to do. He turns down Ciaran's offer of help. Gail tells the police she didn't report Joe missing as it would have meant her going along with his plan. The aunts dislike the hotpot. Becky returns from a shopping expedition for baby clothes but refuses to relieve Liz as she's tired. Audrey snaps at Gail but regrets her words and admits that Joe had put her in an impossible situation. Dev sticks up for Sunita against her aunts' incessant grumbling. Jackie returns to the shop and threatens Molly, telling her to keep away from Tyrone. Sunita's grateful for Dev's intervention, but she dodges a kiss from him. Tina's startled to see the police towing away Joe's boat for forensic tests. Gail is upset when DS Carr tells her that Joe's death is being treated as suspicious.
