Plot[]
Part One: Robbie returns to the cafe and urges Roy to attend a railway gala in York tomorrow. Roy's reluctant to leave the cafe but is sorely tempted. Bill and Jason begin two weeks' work on the Underworld roof. Nick gets Paul Stokes to agree to talk to him again. Lyn wishes Gail luck as she sets off for the first day of her trial. Anna suggests that a depressed Hayley should call on Roy. Over the phone, Tracy tells Deirdre that she'll be moved to an open prison in return for testifying, and assures her that her evidence is truthful. The Barlows, Nick and Audrey set off for court. Unable to attend the trial until he has given evidence, Graeme and Natasha keep David company at the salon. Robbie calls in at the Rovers and gets chatting to Sean. Dev and Sunita move into No.7 and find Maria's furniture still in place. Robbie pretends to be interested in buying seconds from Underworld. Sean lets slip that the factory's closed and has just had a big order cancelled. Sean points Carla out to Robbie. He approaches her and expresses interest in buying Rickson's order. Carla plays it cool but is secretly delighted. They make an arrangement to meet tomorrow. Mr Hughes and Ms Waller brief Gail and tell her to keep her cool.
Part Two: Robbie calls Tony and fills him in on Underworld's troubles. Tony instructs Robbie to get Bill and Jason out of the factory and not to be late. Anna nags Roy to call on Hayley. Roy tells Robbie that he will definitely attend the York gala. Audrey snubs Deirdre at the court. Eddie's perplexed when Roy calls at No.6 and heads up to Hayley's bedroom to leave a surprise for her. Tony stages a fight with a fellow prisoner. The trial commences with Norris and Mary claiming places in the gallery. Tony fakes a heart attack. He is rushed to hospital by ambulance. The prosecution QC outlines the case against Gail. Robbie follows the ambulance in his van. Tracy takes the stand and explains how Gail felt she could confide in her, saying that Gail admitted hitting Joe over the head, pushing him into the water and watching him drown. Robbie engineers a crash. Armed with a gun, he manoeuvres the driver and prison guard into the back of the ambulance and sets Tony free. He locks the two men in the ambulance while he and Tony drive away on a motorcycle.

Notes[]
- This was the first episode to be recorded in High Definition and the first to use the 2010 title sequence. A new version of Eric Spear's signature theme tune also debuted with this episode. The programme had been shown on ITV1 HD (later renamed ITV HD) in a regularly scheduled simultaneous broadcast with ITV1 since Episode 7307 (2nd April 2010) as an "upscaled" picture although test transmissions had been taking place in the Granada region since August 2009.
- This episode was the first of six intended for transmission on the week beginning 31st May 2010. It was shown at 7.00pm, ahead of the usual 7.30pm slot. The remaining five of the week's episodes were planned to be shown at 9.00pm on successive days beginning on Monday, between two episodes of Britain's Got Talent. Following the Cumbria shootings on 2nd June 2010, the decision was taken by ITV to delay transmission of the week's remaining episodes, due to the Tony Gordon siege storyline. As a result, Episodes 7354, 7355 and 7356 were postponed until the following week. [1]
- One of Dev and Sunita Alahan's removal men is uncredited although he has a line of dialogue.
- The scenes at Weatherfield Crown Court were recorded at Bradford Town Hall, the Castle Armoury Drill Hall on Castle Street in Bury doubled as the exterior of Highfield Prison, and Robbie Sloane's ambush of the ambulance was shot on Pacific Way and Broadway in Weaste in Salford.
- Gordon Seed and Derek Lea were credited as stunt toubles with Richard Hammatt as the stunt co-ordinator for Robbie Sloane's ambush of Tony Gordon's ambulance.
- TV Times synopsis: Robbie befriends Carla and Roy as the day comes to help Tony escape from jail and put the murderer's plan into action; and Gail's trial begins, with Tracy as the first witness.
- Viewing Figures: First UK broadcast - 8,170,000 viewers (14th place).
