Plot[]
Part One: Robbie buys gaffer tape in the corner shop. A touched Hayley shows Anna the present Roy left for her. It's a salsa dress. The police conduct door-to-door enquiries in the street. Trevor wants to stay with Carla at the factory but she sends him away as Bill and Jason are working on the roof. Robbie turns up at the factory to see her. She asks him to come back in an hour and instead her goes to the cafe to make sure that Roy still intends to go to York. David prepares for court. Anka rings, on the verge of pulling out, but David persuades her to turn up. Robbie returns to the factory as the police leave to follow up a lead at the airport. Carla locks them both inside for safety. Hayley arrives at the cafe with her suitcase. Roy's delighted. Nick sincerely wishes a nervous David the best of luck as the court reconvenes. Roy proposes cancelling his trip to York. Hayley insists he goes while she minds the cafe. Carla's horrified when Robbie pulls a gun on her.
Part Two: At gunpoint, Robbie orders Carla to get rid of Bill and Jason. She's terrified and obeys, giving the excuse that the insurance company have said they won't be paying for the repair. Nick, Tina, Eileen, Audrey, Norris and Mary watch from the public gallery as Gail's defence gets underway. Robbie ties Carla to her chair and covers her mouth with gaffer tape before heading outside, locking the door behind him. Carla tries to scream for help. Questioned by Mr Hughes, Gail tearfully explains the circumstances of the last time she saw Joe. Robbie tells Roy he can no longer make the York trip. Roy departs alone on the bus. Anka arrives at the court. Gail declares that Tracy's testimony is a tissue of lies. The prosecution gains an admission from Gail that she lied to the police and Tina. Robbie goes to the cafe and tells Hayley that Carla has had an accident in the factory. A worried Hayley follows him. The prosecution accuses Gail of striking Joe on the head. She denies it but is forced to admit she caused the scratches on his face and arms in their struggle. Hayley's aghast to find Carla tied up and gagged in the office. She tries to scream but Robbie ties her up as well. Suddenly, Anka gets cold feet and bolts. Helpless David cannot call after her. Hayley and Carla are stunned when Tony appears on the staircase. He praises Robbie for successfully capturing them and removes the gaffer tape from Carla's mouth and tells her and Hayley that since no one knows they are there, they won't be disturbed.
