Plot
Leanne quickly covers, telling Peter that Nick's annoyed because she threw a sickie and didn't turn up for work. The army officer tells Eddie and Anna that Gary's been seriously injured and three lads in the unit were killed, including Quinny. Anna cries and Eddie hugs her close. Michelle's annoyed when Carla leaves her in the lurch at the factory. Ciaran's sympathetic and telling Michelle he's crazy about her, he kisses her. Leanne turns up for work at The Joinery. Nick's surprised to see her but Leanne explains she didn't feel she had much choice. Jim celebrates his birthday in the Rovers. He's disappointed by Liz's absence. With Becky applying the pressure, Steve agrees to let Jim stay the night on the sofa. Leanne pours her heart out to Carla telling her how Peter's got a friend called "Carl" who's an alcoholic who he spends all his time with. Leanne admits she's never met Carl but she's jealous of him. Carla remains tight-lipped. Sophie and Sian attend choir practice but the pastor makes it clear they're not welcome. Sophie tells the pastor he's bigoted and narrow-minded. Leanne confides in Carla that she slept with Nick and now she deeply regrets it. Jim decides to attend Jack's funeral tomorrow. Peter's uneasy to find Leanne and Carla have spent the evening together.
