Eric Nicholson appeared on Coronation Street in two roles, both of them connected with Newcastle: firstly in August 1962 as Geordie lorry driver Ted Young, who knew Sam Leach - Rovers' barman and maternal uncle of Jerry Booth; and he returned to the programme in October 1985 as a railway passenger who tried to pick up Tracy Barlow when she ran away to that city.
His other television credits include roles in Nick of the River, The Artful Dodger, No Hiding Place and Our House.
