Ernest Harrison was the Mission committee's treasurer in 1962. When Albert Tatlock laid out 15/- for materials at the Glad Tidings Mission Hall in his capacity as caretaker, Ena Sharples told him to get onto Harrison in Victoria Street to be reimbursed rather than wait for chairman Leonard Swindley. Albert knew Harrison as "that coal fella" who did "a bit o' bodysnatchin' on t'side" - a description which Ena advised him not to repeat to the funeral director.
As he was feeling under the weather, Albert cut the trip to Victoria Street short and went home to bed instead, and Ken Barlow took the bill to Harrison for him.
